As a Registered Massage Therapist, Kati believes in the combined effects of massage therapy and movement based interventions. She is strongly passionate about education, both for her patient’s benefit as well as for her own.

In her early 20’s she pursued a career as a personal trainer and discovered her love for working with people. Soon after beginning her career as a trainer she suffered a debilitating pelvis injury from playing competitive soccer and found herself in chronic pain for over 2 years. Through working with a physiotherapist in Vancouver she realized what it took, both mentally and physically to overcome pain. She was able to successfully rehabilitate after a year and returned to being active.

After this experience she realized the impact she could have working in an industry helping people feel their best as well as overcome their injuries. She returned to school to become a massage therapist. Kati graduated from WCCMT in 2015 and has been growing her knowledge and skills in the industry ever since.

With her previous background working alongside some of the best Physiotherapists in Vancouver and years of playing competitive, high level sports Kati brings a unique skill set to the industry. She believes it’s important to listen first, then provide a unique treatment to each of her patients. Kati uses a number of different techniques in her sessions. From movement, deep tissue massage to myofascial release. She tailors her sessions based on the needs of her patients. Her extensive knowledge of the body and movement allows her to provide pain relieving solutions at home or at work.

Her philosophy is simple, “Change is essential. Change the way you think and you change the way you move. Change the way you move and you change the way you feel.”

She looks forward to working with you and wishes you the very best on your healing journey.

Takara is passionate about creating a safe, supportive space where clients can relax, restore, and reconnect with their bodies. She believes that activating the parasympathetic nervous system—the body’s natural “rest and restore” state—plays an important role in healing, recovery, and overall well-being.

Her primary focus is to help each client achieve their individual treatment goals while guiding the body toward a state of calm and balance. Because every person experiences relaxation differently, each treatment is tailored to meet their unique needs. Whether your body responds through restful sleep, conversation, laughter, deep sighs, emotional release, or quiet stillness, Takara provides a compassionate and judgment-free environment to support your healing journey.

If your care would benefit from additional treatment or a multidisciplinary approach, Takara is happy to collaborate with other members of the clinic team or refer you to trusted healthcare professionals to ensure you receive the most appropriate care.

Takara incorporates a wide range of therapeutic techniques into her treatments, including myofascial therapy, Swedish massage, trigger point therapy, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), and other evidence-informed approaches. Her experience working in gyms, spas, and multidisciplinary health clinics has given her the opportunity to treat clients with a diverse range of conditions, including disc and nerve-related concerns, whiplash, headaches, migraines, frozen shoulder, muscle strains and sprains, postural dysfunction, and the everyday stresses that affect the body.

Recognizing that every client has a different comfort level and preference for treatment pressure, Takara encourages open communication throughout each session. By discussing your goals and preferred pressure, you can work together to create a treatment that is both effective and comfortable, ensuring your care is tailored specifically to your needs.
